Today is the fourth day of machine quilting on True Blue. The first day I put in the most hours on it. Probably at least 4 maybe 5 and it has slowly dwindled down. Yesterday I only quilted about 2 hours total. I had to go shopping for an outfit for my son's wedding this weekend.
Today I have to go shopping for a wedding present, I made them a quilt top but it still needs to be quilted. I sure didn't realize how long even with a machine the quilting would take.
I should be done with this one soon and then get started on theirs. I need to get batting today also.
You can see by the pictures below that this is quite the job for my little machine but she is gettin it done.
I hope your day is productive in your quilty room. :)

Pin Basting
Hi All,
My goal for this weekend is to get True Blue quilted and binding put on. I started in early this morning
and have been steadily at it, taking occasional breaks to do laundry or let the dogs out.
I am only quilting in the ditch as I think anything decorative would take away from the pattern of the quilt design.
I thought I would take time now to post pictures of my time with Shirley, pin basting TB and the denim throw..
Here is Shirley getting the batting ready. We laid it out to let it rest a bit in order to get the folds out. I am using Warm and Natural batting.
Shirley has 2 big tables, perfect for pin basting. Here is the backing laid out and ready to be clamped to the table.
Top, batting and backing ready for pinning.
Then we laid out the denim throw and pinned it to the backing. I am not using any batting with this throw. The top is so heavy that with the backing and stitching i thought batting would be too much. This will be used for picnics and go into the car for the winter for a winter throw.
That's it for pin basting. Thank you Shirley for helping me
.
I changed the color of the background of my blog page today. I like it, let me know what you think of it.
I haven't posted any gratitudes in awhile so I thought I would leave you with these that I am grateful for.
1) A loving and forgiving God. Thank you Lord Jesus for all of your blessings in my life.
2) My wonderful husband, who drives me crazy most of the time.
3) My sewing machine, that I can make wonderful quilts on like True Blue.
Thanks for stopping by.

Gonna pin baste True Blue today. :)
Hi All,
I am going to my friend Shirley's today to layer and baste TB. This is my first queen sized quilt to baste.
My first completed queen that I did last fall was basted and quilted by the shop I took it to, So this will be my first official queen to layer and baste with the help of my friend Shirley. (and quilt too)
I have 6 tops completed and ready to be quilted. Yay!! So no piecing for awhile until I get my quilting done. I will post pictures later this week of the basting.
Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Piecing
Hi,
I wanted to share about the paper piecing class I took earlier this week. It was great! LOL, Oh you want more?
Well I bought a little kit a week ago at this shop in Manchester Iowa called The Quiltmaker's Shoppe. The kit was by Remember Me Pattern Co. and was a long and scrappy wall hanging called "Christmas Ornament". If you bought one of these the shop offered a free 2 hour paper piecing class so I did it. Thank you Mary for your patience and wonderful teaching.
Here is the completed project:
It went together really fast and thanks to Mary's teaching I feel pretty confident to take on another project so I purchased another little one and if that one comes together okay I have a quilt I want to attack/attempt. :)
Moving right along, Here is my Quilt for Kids quilt, all pieced and quilted. YAY!! I think it turned out super cute. The quilting is okay but it was great practice for me. I quilted the four patch blocks in the ditch and the other blocks I free motioned a little loopy thing in them. Now I have to get that in the mail and back to QFK's so I can get another one. :)
Thanks for stopping by. Have a terrfic day.
