WIP Wednesday

Hello,
It's Work In Progress Wednesday. YAY!!

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
Here are a couple of things I am working on this week.
My nieces "You Are A Star" quilt is quilted. (That is the name I am giving it because of the stars in the piecing and the quilting. And, well, because she is a star too) :)

Now to get the binding on, this weekend.

DSD's quilt (Bento Box) is going on the long arm. I loaded the top tonight and still have the back to piece. The back will be all white and pieced in 3 strips because the top is larger than a queen yet smaller than a king.

And the binding on this Quilt for Kids quilt.
That's about it for my week , how about yours.
I would love to hear about your WIP'S or anything else you have to share.
I hope you are having a wonderful week.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Tuesday

Hello,
My niece's quilt is quilted and off the long arm. YAY!!! I quilted a pantogram on it that had stars and loops. The back is pieced and I think is almost as cute as the front. (pictures coming).

Now I have my step-daughters quilt top laying over the long arm and I hope to get it loaded tonight.
Looks like this next weekend will be spent hand sewing binding on,  in front of the T.V. , and watching old movies.

Happy Labor Day

Hello,
Hubs is home! YAY!
For those of you who don't know, my husband drives a semi truck and is on the road for at least 3 weeks at a time and then comes home for 3 - 5 days.
I knew he was coming home sometime this week but wasn't expecting him so soon and since I had worked extra hours this weekend I really wasn't feeling up to making him a home cooked meal. Does a crock pot meal count?  Crock Pot Lasagna!

Here is the recipe for Crock Pot Lasgna.
Crock Pot Lasagna
Ingrediants
1 lb lean ground beef
1 onion chopped
2 garlic cloves, smashed
1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 1/2 salt
1 teaspoon oregano
12 ounces cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese or 1/2 cup asiago cheese
12 ounces lasagna noodles, uncooked
16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
1. Brown ground beef, add onion and garlic when beef is mostly browned
2. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt and oregano
3. Cook sauce long emough to get it warm.
4. Spoon a layer of meat sauce onto the bottom of the slow cooker
5. Add a double layer of uncooked lasagna noodles (break to fit) and top with cheeses
6. Repeat with sauce noodles and cheeses until all are used up
7. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
Enjoy.

Dear Hubs went with me to the fabric store and watched while I fingered fabric and got what I came for. A high quality muslin.
Thanks for going with me Dear Hubs.

Hope you are having a fun Labor day.
Thanks for stopping by.

September - Projects to get done - List

Hello,
September is here!
My summer has been very productive, sewing-wise, with a little family fun thrown in here and there.

This is my September project list of things to do. (Maybe posting it will give me some accountability to get it done).

Here we go!

1. Quilt for Kids quilt that is quilted and now needs binding.

This is the binding I am going to use. It is a strip of binding left over from the Baby girl quilt I just finished up. There isn't enough to go all around the quilt so I am going to cut this piece into sections about 8 inches long and altenate it with white 8 inch sections to make it go farther.

2.Now that my long arm is free I am going to load up my nieces quilt, get it quilted and put the binding on all in this month. Did I say "all in this month"?? I am sure she will be happy to know this since she graduated high school last year! I know what your thinking or at least I know what I am thinking (because I can't read minds - for real), but I think I can do this! (Or at least plan to do it, right?).Here is the pieced top laying on the long arm thinking about getting loaded on.

I am going to piece the back of her quilt with all the fabric I have left over. As you can see I have a pretty fair amoung left over. If it isn't enough I will add white on the borders to make it bigger.

I should just stop here! but I am going to push myself this month so here goes>>>.

3. Here is a flannel Baby Boy Rag quilt that is on the list to finish up. All of the squares are cut and some are sewn together so on the list it goes!

4.Here is a table runner and a table topper all pinned and ready to be machine quilted.

5. My lovely flower quilt that I would like to finish piecing and get quilted this month.
AND....
When I get all of that done (hehe) a new project to start?

I know, I know. I still have other projects burning on the back burner.
I have tons of ideas for newer projects to start!
I love the process, finishing up one and starting another, or maybe it's the other way around. Either way - I LOVE IT!

What is your project list for this month? I would love to hear about it. Feel free to leave me a comment as I love to hear from you.
I hope your summer has been productive too. Look out Fall here we come. :)

Thanks for stopping by.
